Dr. Ally Said is an emergency medicine doctor in Dar es Salaam.
He also owns a fleet of bodaboda and bajaji. He runs it the way most owners do: weekly payments, drivers working toward owning their vehicle, and records that are easy to lose.
He is the founder of LUNO Mwanajando and builds it himself. LUNO is the tool he wanted for his own fleet: one shared record of the contract, the payments and the freedom date, for the owner and the driver alike.
He writes in Kiswahili about poverty, health and life.
Health innovation — EMD Survival
EMD Survival is a web app he built for the Emergency Medicine Department at Muhimbili National Hospital. Residents and clinicians use it at the Upanga and Mloganzila campuses. It shows each resident their shifts and rotations for the month, who is on duty with them and who they hand over to, and the teaching days and exams coming up.
It also has a private check-in on sleep and wellbeing. The answers stay on the resident's own phone and are never sent.
Accepted for poster presentation at AfCEM 2026, the 8th African Conference on Emergency Medicine, Arusha, Tanzania.
Early use: 154 opens and 296 interactions in the first 48 hours.

Yeye ndiye mwanzilishi wa LUNO Mwanajando na anaijenga mwenyewe. LUNO ni chombo alichokihitaji kwa vyombo vyake mwenyewe: rekodi moja ya pamoja ya mkataba, malipo na siku ya uhuru, kwa mmiliki na dereva.

Ubunifu katika afya — EMD Survival
EMD Survival ni programu ya mtandaoni aliyoijenga kwa Idara ya Tiba ya Dharura ya Hospitali ya Taifa Muhimbili. Inatumiwa na madaktari wanaosomea utaalamu na matabibu katika kampasi za Upanga na Mloganzila. Inamwonyesha kila mmoja zamu na mizunguko yake ya mwezi, walio zamu pamoja naye na anayemkabidhi zamu, pamoja na siku za masomo na mitihani inayokuja.
Pia ina sehemu binafsi ya kujipima usingizi na hali ya ustawi. Majibu yanabaki kwenye simu yake mwenyewe na hayatumwi popote.
Imekubaliwa kuwasilishwa kama bango (poster) kwenye AfCEM 2026, Mkutano wa 8 wa Afrika wa Tiba ya Dharura, Arusha, Tanzania.
Matumizi ya mwanzo: imefunguliwa mara 154 na kutumika mara 296 ndani ya saa 48 za kwanza.
